Welcome to my website! A few things about me: I am a socialist, vegan and community activist who loves football, sociology and politics.

I have a first class BA degree in Sociology from The University of Leeds and passed with Distinction my Masters in Politics With Research Methods at The University of Sheffield.

I am a freelancer with lots of hats. This includes being part of Jay and Jane, being the Project Manager for Libre Digital, and being the co-founder and secretary, alongside playing, at AFC Unity.

I have received some recognition for my writing, most of which has featured on this site. This involves being quoted by The Independent, The Guardian and The Wall Street Journal, having articles published by a London based magazine called The Blog Paper and being included in @PhilBC’s top 100 independent tweeting political bloggers for 2012. This blog was also voted as one of the best 300 UK political blogs by Total Politics in 2010. I was also the first undergraduate contributor to Public Sociology (a Leeds University Sociology and Social Policy blog).

I completed my first book, The Return to Doncatraz Reader, which is the official companion book for a guerilla documentary, Return to Doncatraz, which I also was the producer, researcher, co-writer of alongside finding archive footage for.

I am a super keen footballer having played football since being very small, playing for several teams before finding my footballing home at AFC Unity. This included, in 2006, being part of Meadowhead Girls School Football Team winning the ‘Treble’ – i.e. the league, South Yorkshire Cup and the ‘ESFA Royal Air-force Under 16 Schools’ Cup’. The latter competition resulted in us becoming the best girls’ school football team (14-16 years) in the country, and being able to play the final at West Bromwich Albion F.C. stadium!
